William A. "W.A." Pendergrass

William A Pendergrass, 90, a longtime resident of Cleveland, TN passed away Monday, April 2, 2018. He was born to Gordon and Lela Pendergrass on February 6, 1928 in Chattanooga, TN. He was a member of Gum Springs Baptist Church and he worked for many years as a waterpoofer. He was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was a man of wisdom and strength, he loved sharing his past experiences which encouraged others. He was a giver to help others in need. His passion was farming and his family.
He is survived by his children, Virginia Wampler, Sharon Hanshaw, BJ Pendergrass; siblings, Bobby Pendergrass, Margie Blackwell, Jodie Pendergrass, as well as 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
The family will receive friends Friday, April 6, 2018 from 2:00pm-4:00pm at Companion Funeral Home: Cleveland Chapel. There will be a celebration of life service at 4:00pm with the burial following at Johnston Cemetery. Rev. Joseph Hanshaw and Rev. Ronnie Davis will be officiating the service.
