Dr. Wayne Kelly

May 11, 1967 — July 5, 2024

Dr. Wayne Scott Kelly, 57, beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and local pediatrician, passed away Friday, July 5, 2024.

Wayne was a lifelong resident of Cleveland. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Clarence and Pauline Kelly of Saltville, VA, maternal grandparents, Wayne and Agnes Moore of Calhoun, TN and father, Gerald Wayne Kelly of Cleveland. He is survived by his mother Joyce Louise Moore Kelly, brother Shawn Kelly, wife Britany Cobb Kelly, children Amber, Autumn, Christian (Sarai), Will, Wes, two grandchildren Elias and Stella, God-daughter Mary Elizabeth Hicks as well as many special aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Wayne graduated from Cleveland High School in 1985. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Tennessee Knoxville. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Tennessee Memphis. He was a partner at Cleveland Pediatrics until 2012 and Peerless Pediatrics for the last 12 years.

Wayne was passionate about his career and thoroughly enjoyed caring for the children and families of Cleveland. He enjoyed fine dining and traveling. He was a dedicated family man and spent as much time as possible loving the people dearest to him. Wayne grew up attending Hiwassee Baptist Church in Calhoun and is currently a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Cleveland where he served on the Vestry. He also served on the board of several local organizations including Foundation House Ministries and Village Help. He was a past president of the Bradley County Medical Association.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 12th from 4-7 p.m. at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Cleveland. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, July 13th 4:00 p.m. at St. Luke's with a reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Foundation House Ministries (258 Broad St. NW, Cleveland, TN 37311) or the Children's Hospital at Erlanger Hematology/Oncology Fund (910 Blackford St., Chattanooga, TN 37403).
