Vivian Townsend

Vivian Delores Townsend, 88, passed away on February 18, 2025. She was born on December 23, 1936 to the late Edgar and Ettie Mae Huckaby in Gainesville, Georgia.

Our beloved Vivian was truly one of a kind. She found joy in singing, cooking, sewing, gardening, and crafting as well as watching old Western movies, reading romance novels, and attending bluegrass festivals. She cherished family reunions, lunch outings, and shopping trips, always embracing the moments shared with loved ones. No matter the occasion, be it a school event, birthday, wedding, holiday, graduation, or hospital stay, she was always there, offering her unwavering love and support. She had a heart full of kindness and made each of us feel deeply loved, unconditionally.

In addition to her parents, Vivian is preceded in death by her husband, Bob Townsend, former husband, James Gay, children, Richard and Jerry Gay, and Joan Brewer.

She is survived by her daughters, Elaine Talbot, Patricia Brand, and Tammi Cashen, grandchildren, Jason Campbell, Barbara Reeder, Jennifer Robinson, Jeremy Woods, Justin Brewer, Kristie Brewer, Josh Brewer, Kyle Cashen, Casey Cashen, Brandy Gay, Steven Clark, Alicia McGowan, Jeremy Randolph, as well as 16 great-grandchildren and 6 great great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, February 24, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Companion Funeral Home - The Cleveland Chapel with Chaplain David Rapson officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm prior to the service. A graveside service is to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
