Virginia "Ernie" Ruth

Virginia "Ernie" Ruth, 78, of Cleveland, Tennessee passed away on Friday, May 16, 2025. Ernie was born on January 25, 1947 at home in Bradley County to the late James Clyde Burnette, and Dovie Rue Burnette. Ernie was a dedicated employee at Hardwick clothes from 1982 until 2000. Following her time at Hardwick clothes she worked at Walmart from 2000 - 2018. Ernie was an avid traveler and took every opportunity she could to see the world.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by husband, Jerry Ruth; her grandson, Clint Scoggins; and her brother, Tommy Burnette.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Robert (LaLanna) Ruth, Lisa (David) Buckner, and Melanie Hayden; her grandchildren, Ziek (Alisa) Buckner, Ashley (Nolen) Goins, Brianna Buckner, and Shandi McLemore; great grandchildren, Gracie Hartline, Maggie Buckner, Caysn Buckner, Caleb Buckner, Dillon Buckner, Reese Goins, Kit Goins, Colin McLemore, and Luna McLemore; and her siblings, Nina Wade, Glenda Burnette, Donnie Burnette, Johnny Burnette, Ronnie Burnette, Clyde Burnette, Anita Vaughn, and Teena Eller; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends

A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Companion Funeral Home - The Cleveland Chapel with Pastor Daniel White officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm prior to the service. A graveside service is to follow at Shiloh Cemetery with Donnie Burnette, Matthew Ruth, Tony Burnette, Nolen Goins, Charlie Ruth, and Caysn Buckner serving as pallbearers.
