Virginia Murrell

April 25, 1944 — April 19, 2024

Virginia "Ginny" Rae Murrell, 79, of Spring City, TN, passed away at home surrounded by her family. She was born on April 25, 1944 in Beavercreek, OH to Del and Pauline Marshall.

She had an LPN degree in nursing. She worked at Wright Patterson AFB and then became a stay-at-home mom. After her kids were older, she received her LPN degree and became a nurse working in pediatrics, home health and hospitals. After retiring, she worked as a bus aid riding on the school bus. Gene drove and she rode, she loved it.

She loved sewing, making dolls, cooking, candy making, playing cards, fishing, skiing, boating, camping and traveling. She was a founding member of Open Door Fellowship and their children's ministry in Spring City, TN. She helped start Still Waters Emmaus Community in Dayton, TN. She was strong in her faith and her bond with God; she loved teaching the little kids about Jesus.

She loved to laugh and cook for others. Everyone will miss her chocolate chip cookies. She loved to play cards. She always had to go first, "I'm the oldest" and she always cheated, even though she denied it.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Del and Pauline Marshall and a brother, Jerry Marshall.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, who she married on June 17, 1961, Gene Murrell of Spring City, TN; children, Mike (Leeanne) Murrell of Spring City, TN, Chris (Whitney) Murrell of Medina, OH, Jason (Laura) Murrell of Harriman, TN; grandchildren, Abby (Adam) Rogers of Harriman, TN, Jacob (Korin) Murrell of Harriman, TN, Charlie Murrell of Medina, OH, Maggie Murrell of Medina, OH, Ellie Murrell of Clinton, TN, Glen Murrell of Clinton, TN, Valerie Cox of Oak Ridge, TN, Ashley Smith of Knoxville, TN; great-grandchildren, Jameson Rogers of Harriman, TN, Lily-Beth Rogers of Harriman, TN, Easton Murrell of Harriman, TN; sister, Sandy Kirchner of Spring City, TN and her beloved pets, Travler and Susie.
