Obituary


Virgil Cronan, 68, of Benton, TN passed away surrounded by friends and family at his home on Sunday March 10, 2013. He was born on December 30, 1944 to the late Harve and Lillie Mae Cronan. Virgil was a lifelong resident of Benton and a member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church. He will forever be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He took great pride in being a grandfather and great-grandfather, loving those children dearly.
In addition to his mother and father he is preceded in death by brothers William, L.C. “Bud,” and Frank Cronan, one sister Flossie Wooten, grand-daughter Linda Bloom, two great-grandchildren, Dawson and Cayla Bloom. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 48 years Linda Cronan, children Lisa Wardlaw (George) of LaFayette, GA, Bonnie Pike (John), Steve Cronan (Mandy), Tracey Haun (Keith), brothers Birch and Bobby Gene Cronan, sisters Pearl Coleman and Ruth Seay, thirteen grand-children and ten great-grandchildren and several nieces nephews and extended family members and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5:00pm-8:00pm on Wednesday March 13th at Pine Ridge Baptist Church in Benton, TN. A funeral service will be held on Thursday March 14th at 3:00pm at the church with Keith Haun, Rev. Paul White, and Rev. Charles Moore officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery in Benton. Tanner Swann, J.W. McMurray, Wesley Cronan, Chris Corvin, Eric Keith, Randy Ray Hardin, Jason Wooten, and Adam Keith will serve as pallbearers. Tregan Woody and Joby Lane will serve as honorary pallbearers.
