Vicky Martin

September 17, 1964 — December 30, 2024

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Vicky Lynn Martin (Rector), who left this world on December 30, 2024, at the age of 60. Born on September 17, 1964, Vicky lived a life marked by love, determination, and an unwavering dedication to her family and friends.

Vicky began her career as a banker, where her practicality and problem-solving skills made her a trusted professional and valued colleague. After years of hard work, she retired early and moved to Tennessee to be closer to the family she cherished so deeply. There, she thrived in a life filled with joy, love, and constant activity.

Vicky's zest for life was infectious. She had a passion for music and dancing, a love for traveling and shopping, going to estate sales, thrifting, and finding good deals, and an unparalleled green thumb that made her plants flourish. A creative spirit, she delighted in refurbishing furniture, solving puzzles, cooking, and working on projects around the house and yard. Vicky was a perpetual "busy body," always moving, creating, and making life beautiful for those around her. Her tidy home was a reflection of her practical and logical nature, but it was her open heart and nonjudgmental spirit that made it a sanctuary for her family and friends.

Vicky was a vault of trust; she was the person you could share your deepest thoughts with, knowing they'd remain safe with her. She didn't tolerate nonsense but loved fiercely, bringing people together with her warmth and authenticity. Everyone who met her loved her, and her presence brightened every room she entered.

Above all, Vicky was a devoted mother and grandmother who poured her heart into her family. She is survived by three of her children, who will carry on her legacy of love and resilience: Christopher Lesperance and his wife Holly, along with their two daughters, Lennox and Sloane; Jennifer Lesperance Shepherd and her husband Phillip, along with their son Jack Kelly; and Rawson Martin. She also leaves behind her beloved fiancé, Scott Kaper, who brought her immense happiness.

Vicky's love extended beyond her immediate family to her sisters, Laurie Barber and Sharlayne Rector, and her cherished nephews, nieces, and their children. She held a special place in her heart for each of them and enriched their lives with her boundless energy and unconditional love. She is also survived by her step-sister, step-brother and step-parents, Judy Rector and Alex Climovech, who she loved dearly, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Vicky was predeceased by her father, James Arthur Rector, her mother, Barbara Ann Climovech (Rawson), her son, Jonathan Matthew Lesperance, and her beloved brother-in-law, Bill Barber. She loved her customers and formed lasting relationships with many of them. She also deeply cherished her best friends, Steve and Mary Faulkner, who brought her immense joy and companionship.

Cancer took Vicky's life very quickly and suddenly, but her spirit and love will forever endure in the hearts of those who knew her.

Vicky Lynn Martin was a woman of remarkable strength, love, and grace. She leaves behind a legacy of laughter, memories, and unshakable bonds. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A celebration of Vicky's life will be held at Parish Hill Event Barn, 5325 NY-245, Naples, NY 14512, on Saturday, May 24th 2025. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Salvation Army, in honor of Vicky's generous and loving spirit.

Rest in peace, Mom. Your light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who loved you.
