Obituary

Vestie Leroy Ledford, 75, of McDonald, TN passed away on Wednesday April 9, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on September 11, 1938 to the late Levi and Ula Mae Ledford. Leroy was a lifelong resident of McDonald, of the Baptist faith, and a member of Johns Memorial Baptist Church. He was a truck driver for 35+ years and retired from CRM. He enjoyed gospel singing, gardening, outdoors, and anything having to do with his family. Above all things Leroy was a family man. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

In addition to his mother and father, Leroy is preceded in death by one son Ronnie L Ledford, grandson William Leroy Ledford, and brother Gene Ledford.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 55 years Irene Hill Ledford, daughters Sheila Massengale (Ray), Connie Crowe (Gary), and Marty Tate; brothers Winston Ledford and Larry Ledford; sisters Jessie Taylor, Frances McIntyre, and Alice Wheeler; grandchildren Daniel Massengale, Eddie Massingill, T.J. Massingill, Ronnie Ledford Jr., Tambra Battle, Jason Crowe, and Ashley Eaton; thirteen great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday April 12, 2014 at John's Memorial Baptist Church located at 5110 McDonald Road, McDonald, TN 37403 with Pastor James Lance and Pastor Ken Purdie officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Antioch Baptist Cemetery with Daniel Massengale, Eddie Massingill, T.J. Massingill, Jason Crowe, Travis Battle and Kerry Johnson serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday April 11, 2014 from 5:00PM-9:00PM at the church and on Saturday April 12, 2014 from 12:00PM until the 2:00PM service.

The family would like to extend sincere thanks to all the caring nurses and staff of Amedisys Hospice that provided such excellent to Leroy and his family.
