Obituary

Vennie Price Bishop, 83, died peacefully, June 26th, 2014. Vennie was born in Wrightsville, GA on February 7, 1931, to the late David Al Price and Trudie Belle Price. She is also preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Bishop, brothers, Roy Price, Earl Price, Edward Price and A.L. (Buddy) Price and sisters, Thelma Green, Margaret Bowling and Gladys Price.

Vennie was a retired Georgia school teacher and she was of the Methodist faith.

She is survived by her son J. David Bishop Jr., (Karen), granddaughter, Amy C. Cantrell (Scott), grandson, Andy Cannon, great granddaughter Madi Cantrell, great grandson Cooper Cantrell, sister Allene Price of Florida, brother Clyde Price of North Carolina, brother-in-law Bill Hudgens of Georgia, nephew Terry Neal of Georgia and special lifelong friend Wilma Dopson of Georgia. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 28th, 2014 at 4:00 PM in the Jacksonville City Cemetery in South Georgia.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, in memory of Vennie Bishop and in honor of Madi Cantrell.
