Tonya Pendergrass

Tonya Marie Pendergrass, 64, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2024. Following a courageous battle with cancer, she received her promotion to glory peacefully, surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

Born in Warren, Michigan, to the late Wade and Shirley Jenkins, Tonya was the third of six children. She loved her family fiercely. Upon settling in Tennessee, Tonya spent many years in the workforce at Magic Chef before answering her calling to the field of nursing. Known for her selfless spirit, she devoted her life to being the ultimate caregiver for both her patients and all she encountered. With her kind heart and generosity, she touched many lives. Tonya had a passion for traveling and loved taking trips with her children and grandchildren. Her strength and unwavering faith were an inspiration to us all.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter Cristal Henley (Tony) and son Kristopher Calhoun (Jessica), grandchildren Bryson Henley, Titan Henley, Braylon Calhoun, Kason Calhoun, Nealia Calhoun, Katelyn Caldwell, and Alex Huff. In addition to these, Tonya leaves her siblings Lavonne Collins, Larry Jenkins, Teresa Jenkins, Michael Jenkins (Jolene), and Elizabeth Leonard, along with numerous nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.

Tonya's family will receive friends from 10:00 am-12:00 noon on Tuesday, December 17th, 2024 at the Ridge Chapel of Companion Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will take place at noon with Pastor Bryan Mowery and Pastor Jeremy Brewer officiating. She will be laid to rest at Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Turtletown, TN following the service.
