Tony Neves

June 5, 1941 — April 6, 2021

Tony Neves, 79, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away on April 6, after suffering several strokes and a battle with dementia.

Tony was born on June 5, 1941 to Juanita and Lecel in Greenville, South Carolina. After graduating from Greenville High School in 1964, he went on to study photography at Greenville Tech, Cleveland State Community College, and then went to Lee University and took advantage of their senior programs and helped many students in their photography studies. He graduated with his Masters in Photography in 1989.

In 1955, he met Nancy Martin, and they wed in 1962, going on to have two children, Ronnie Neves who went on to marry Donna Gregg, and Megan Neves who went on to marry Jody Lischewski, and two beloved granddaughters, Chloe Starshine Mize and Lily Temperance Thomas.

Tony was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. He was unendingly proud of Ronnie, Megan, Chloe, Lily, and Nancy and always tried his best to support them.

He loved his friends. He would often spend time with them, helping them perfect the art of photography or helping them fix something on their car. He also adored his animals and passed that love down to his children and granddaughters.

Tony was also a passionate photographer and could often be found with a camera in hand, ready to snap that perfect shot.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please make donations to SCRATCH, inc of Chattanooga or Dixie Day Spay of Cleveland, TN. There will be no services as Tony wanted people to remember him the way he lived.

We invite you to send a message of comfort and view the family guestbook at www.companionfunerals.com

Companion Funeral and Cremation Service, Cleveland Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
