Tommy Stamey

Tommy W. Stamey, famously known as The Crippled Cracker, of Madisonville, died Thursday October 12, 2023 at University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville at the age of 53 years. Tommy was born on September 17, 1970 in Warren, Michigan.

Tommy faced many struggles and challenges throughout his life, but he persevered with great strength all the way until the end. He loved his 5 children with everything he had. Everything he did in life, was for them. Tommy found great solace in journaling, writing songs, and music. He used those outlets to express words and feelings he couldn't outwardly say. Always a comedian, Tommy could put a smile on ones face no matter the situation. He held his family and friends very dear to him and one of his favorite ways to pass the time was with warm company.

Surviving are his mother and father, Laura Guilliaems-Stamey and Tommy L. Stamey of Tellico Plains; Children, Megan (Justin) Randolph of Madisonville, Savanna Stamey of Tellico Plains, Kayla Stamey of Madisonville, Kameron Stamey of Madisonville, and Chastity Cansler of Sweetwater; Siblings, Michael Stamey of Sweetwater, Holley Stamey of Tellico Plains and Darice Stamey-Bell of Georgia; Nieces and Nephews, Branden Stamey of Tellico Plains, Ashley and Terry Harris of Tellico Plains, Rhonda (Drew) Leinart of Madisonville, Amber Bell of Georgia; Granddaughters, Emma Randolph of Madisonville and Naelyn Dyer of Madisonville. Also surviving are his many special aunts, uncles and cousins in Michigan and Tennessee.

Tommy is preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Guilliaems; Grandparents, Helen and Joesph Guilliaems, Arch and Desma Stamey.

The family will be holding a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at a later date that is yet to be determined.
