Tommy Stamey

Tommy L. Stamey, of Tellico Plains, died peacefully at home; surrounded by family, Monday October 16, 2023. He was 81 years of age. Tommy was born on June 9th, 1942, in Tellico Plains Tennessee, the son of Arch and Desma Stamey. Tom married Laura Guilliaems on June 13th, 1979. They shared 55 years together.

Tom enjoyed fishing, Tennessee football (Go Vols!), and playing cards with his closest friends. Though he may not have admitted to it, he enjoyed spending quality time with his family. Holiday dinners were especially treasured. Despite a grouchy exterior, Tommy had a soft spot for babies and animals.

Surviving are his dedicated wife, Laura Guilliaems-Stamey, of Tellico Plains; Children, Darice Stamey-Bell of Georgia, Michael Stamey of Sweetwater, and Holley Stamey of Tellico Plains; Special Granddaughter, Rhonda (Drew) Leinart of Madisonville; Grandchildren, Megan (Justin) Randolph of Madisonville, Savanna Stamey of Tellico Plains, Kayla Stamey of Madisonville, Kameron Stamey of Madisonville, Chastity Cansler, Branden Stamey of Tellico Plains, Ashley and Terry Harris of Tellico Plains, Amber, Jeremy and Revonda of Georgia. Also surviving are his great-grandchildren.

Tommy is preceded in death by his parents, Arch and Desma; Sister, Lois Gruber; Daughter, Donna Stamey; Sons, Ronald Guilliaems and Tommy Stamey; and Nephew, Robert Bryson.

The family will be holding a celebration of life memorial service, at a later date that is yet to be determined.
