Timohty W. Hooker, 62, of Cleveland, Tennessee passed away on Monday, May 6, 2024, after a lengthy illness. Tim was a college professor for many years. Tim was born on October 8, 1961, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Jesse W. and Margie Hooker. He was a dedicated member of Saint Luke's Episcopal Church
He previously taught classes at UTC, Chattanooga State Community College, and Cleveland State Community College. Tim was a lifelong learner, he enjoyed studying and reading. He received his bachelor's degree from UTC in 1983, his associate of science legal assistant in 1987, and his Master of Arts from UTC in 1990. He also received his Master of Fine Arts in creative writing in 1994. Tim has written and published several books. He was also a Coast Guard auxiliary member as well as an ordained minister. Over the past few years, he enjoyed marrying couples.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 20 years, Rhonda Hooker; his loving cats; his father-in-law, J.D. Houston; brother, Sam Hooker of Chattanooga, Tennessee; nephews, Scott Hooker, and Andy Hooker; and his nieces, Mindy Fowler, and Meredith Owings of Garden City, Kansas; along with a host of extended family and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hearth Hospice, Life Care of Cleveland, and Katy Hamby for the wonderful care he received.
