Thyra Virginia Reece Horn-Moffet

Thyra Virgina Reece Horn-Moffet, 75, a resident of Hixson, TN, passed away on Wednesday evening, March 29, 2017 at her home, surrounded by family. She was owner of Merle Norman Cosmetic Store in Chattanooga and Hixson for 26 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star and of the Sweet Adeline’s Chorus. She was also member of St. Almon’s Episcopal Church in, Hixson, TN
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Rosalie Reece and Walter “Pete” Reece, of North Carolina, and her loving husband, Paul Moffet.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, brothers, J. Don Reece (Fran), of Pleasant Garden, NC, and Walter “Bud” Reece (Pat), of Canon City, CO; step-daughters, Beth Horn Dudle, of Fountain Hill, AZ, and Beth Moffet Tycer, of Colorado Springs, CO; special friends, Dale and Dianne Dodson, of Chattanooga, TN, and Margaret Layne, of FL, as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga.
