Thomas J. Clark, 88, of Cleveland, entered Heaven’s gates to see his family and old friends and new ones, too on January 28, 2020. He fought courageously for 2 months after breaking his hip from a fall.
He was born on March 19, 1931 to the late George and Marie Finkle Clark. He was of the Baptist faith and worked at Bowater for 37 years. After he retired, he spent his time doing what he had loved for 60+ years: boating at Parksville Lake. He rode his jet ski until his early 80s. He also loved collecting antiques. He spent his last years always planning a new project at home. He lived life to its fullest and never met a stranger.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Alice Buttery, Mary Jane Howell and Joy Chisolm.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving, devoted wife and caregiver of 67 years, Willa Dean; daughter, Cindy Brown and fiancé Terry McDowell; sister, Carolyn (Harley) Lawson; brother, Bradley; brother-in-law, Ronald (Barbara) McCallum; “adopted” grandkids, Jordyn and Jackson Hall and Josey Brown; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12:00PM until 2:00PM on Friday, January 31, 2020 at Companion Funeral Home located at 2415 Georgetown Road in Cleveland. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will begin at 2:00PM with Pastor Ken Purdie officiating.
You are invited to share a personal memory of Thomas or your condolences with his family at his online memorial located at www.companionfunerals.com. Companion Funeral and Cremation Service and the Cody family are honored to assist the Clark family with these arrangements.
The family would like to say thank you to Tennova Hospital, Signature Healthcare and the Legacy Village for their special care.
