Thomas Jefferson Epps aged 86 passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 29, 2024. A beloved father, grandfather and friend, Tom leaves behind a legacy of dedication, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit.

Tom lived a life defined by remarkable achievements and a commitment to excellence after earning his degree in electrical engineering. He went to work as an electronic engineer with NASA where he contributed to the groundbreaking advancements of the space program. His work was a testament to his brilliance and his passion for innovation.

After his time with NASA, Tom shifted Gears and became a successful entrepreneur investing in and operating several drive-in theaters over the years. His ventures became a staple of a local community, offering a place of entertainment and nostalgia for many.

Thomas is survived by his fiancé, Donna Cross, his children, Lisa Epps and her son, Weston Epps. His second daughter, Lana Carroll, and her husband Eddie. Their son, Chase Carroll with his wife, Ashley and son Otis. Along with their daughter, Alyssa Carroll Jackson and her husband Brian and their daughter Caroline. As well as a wide circle of friends and colleagues who will remember him for his sharp intellect and witty banter.

Visitation will be Friday, December 6 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Companion Funeral Home, 400 S. White Street, Athens, Tennessee with a Memorial Service to follow.

Tom will be deeply missed, but his memory will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
