Thomas Edward "Tony" Cunningham, 65, of Cleveland, Tn answered his call home to be with his beloved Creator on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was a devoted husband to Cassandra (Sandy) Cunningham, for 46 years. They shared all of life's treasures together including their children and grandchildren, who were the apple of his eye and made him beam with pride.
He was a devout Church of God member, who loved to praise his Savior with instruments. In his younger years, he served as drum and guitar player for Mt. Olive Ministries, and often traveled with the southern gospel bands, Gospelaires, Kings Rangers, Boanerges Trio.
Tony (TC) was hard-working and dedicated. He spent 42 yrs working as a mechanic for Duracell, where he was known for his dependability and quick wit. Even through his many work responsibilities, he always made time to support and be with his family, never missing a sporting event or recital.
Tony enjoyed many hobbies such as fishing and golfing with his son and son-in-law and brother. He enjoyed other sports and hobbies such as bowling, playing softball, camping and spending time with his family.
Honoring his legendary legacy, he was a God-fearing man of sincere integrity, kindness, gentleness and selfless love. He left a lasting Christ-like impression on all who he came in contact with.
He is preceded in death by his father, Tommy Cunningham, mother, Reba Cunningham Cook, and father-in-law, Johnny Gregg.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sandy, children, Heather Burnette (Nathan) and Joshua Cunningham, brother, Greg Cunningham (Valerie) and family, grandchildren Aubrey and Parker and additional extended family. He will be dearly missed by his surviving family, close life-long friends and Duracell family.
The family will be receiving friends on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Companion Funeral Home - The Ridge Chapel from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at Mt. Olive Church of God at 3:00 pm with Pastor James Sears, and Pastor Gary Sears officiating. A graveside service is to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
