Theda Juanita Simonds

Theda Juanita “Granny” Simonds, 85, a lifelong resident of the Cleveland area, passed away June 13, 2017. Theda attended New Salem Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, fishing, and cooking for her family and friends.
Theda is preceded in death by her father, John Dillard and mother, Lizzie Dillard; brother, Eugene Dillard; sister, Rita Sue Dillard.
She leaves behind to cherish her Memory her brothers, Cal Dillard (Jean) and Norman Dillard (Fran); children, Sandra Helms and Clifford Simonds; grandchildren, John Simonds, Teri Lynn Simonds, Jim Helms (Kendal), Jody Helms (Sara); great grandchildren, Hunter Duncan Gee, Zac Gee, Zoe Helms, Haylyn Helms, Lydia Flowers, Noah Flowers, Anna Flowers.
A Celebration of life service is scheduled for Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 2 P.M. at the Companion Funeral Home, located at 2419 Georgetown Road NW, with Pastor A.C. Cooper officiating the service.
The family will receive friends two hours prior, from 12:00pm until the 2:00pm service time, at the funeral home.
Instead of large floral arrangements, it was Granny’s wish that everyone that wanted to bring flowers to just bring a single rose.
