Terry KinCannon

August 23, 1953 — February 6, 2025

Terry Eugene KinCannon, 71, of Philadelphia, Tennessee, passed away February 6th, 2025. In his younger years, Terry was in several bands in East Tennessee where he sang, played the guitar, and played the harmonica. Terry had a love for gardening; every summer he tended to his vegetable garden until he was no longer able to due to having a stroke which made certain things difficult to do. He worked for area companies like Tom's Snack Foods and Anderson News delivering their merchandise from Knoxville to North Georgia at different times in his career before his health started to decline. Terry had converted to the Islamic faith roughly 20 years ago, although he hadn't really practiced the religion in the last several years.

Terry was preceded in death by his very special maternal grandparents, the late France and Verlie Cogdill of Roane County/Philadelphia area. They held such an extremely special place in Terry's heart as they raised him and his older sister Patricia for most of their childhood. Terry was also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: the late James C. KinCannon and Opal KinCannon; Mother and stepfather, Mildred and Albert Nunley of Philadelphia, TN; Father and stepmother, Perry and Dorla KinCannon of Rockford, Illinois; sister, Patricia Kincannon Boyd; sister-in-law, Linda KinCannon; and a niece who Terry always had an especially close relationship with, Dana Willett.

Survivors include his daughter, Katrina Wood (Christopher Tucker) formerly from Cleveland, TN, now living in Roanoke, Virginia; son, Perry Kincannon of Chattanooga, TN; three grandsons: Cooper, belonging to Katrina, and two others belonging to Perry; brothers, Boyd (Mary) KinCannon and Spencer KinCannon (widow of Linda); stepbrother, Danny (Jane) Nunley; half-brother, Bobby KinCannon; three nephews: Steven (Tiffany),KinCannon Bradley KinCannon, and Darryl Willett and two nieces: Michelle McCann and Denise Crowdenn. Terry also leaves behind his very special dog, Sally, who has taken care of him (and his chickens) in many ways over the years.

Terry will be extremely missed by his family, friends, and Sally. The family has plans to have a memorial for Terry at a later date.
