Tara Knox

Tara Jean (Torbett) Knox, 66, of Niota, TN went to be with the Lord on February 18, 2025.

Tara loved spending her time riding horses. But above all else, she loved her family, her children and her grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her mother, Marlene Jane Torbett and step father, James William Torbett; father James Hughes and step mother, Barbara Hughes; daughter, Coriena Marlene Torbett; grandparents, Katheryn Klause and Elmer Lotz and Emma and Willie Hughes; brothers, James Anderson Hughes, Donald Lynn Torbett and Mark Anthony Hughes.

Survivors include her son, James Ross Torbett of Niota; sisters, Vickie Conine and husband Robert of Riceville, Shannon Watson of Niota, Jamie Torbett of Niota, Lance Torbett of Niota, Sandra Bowling of South Carolina, Debbie Hughes of Florida, and Sheila Hughes of Florida; grandchildren, Brianna Hammons, Tessa Torbett, and Zoey Torbett; great grandchild, Mianna Toney, Carter Barton, and Jaxon Hammons; niece, Cayla Cordell; several nephews and other loved family and friends.

The family will have a Visitation on Monday February 24, 2025 from 4:00-7:00pm at Companion Funeral Home of Athens. A Funeral Service will follow at 7:00pm.
