Stewart Carmack (Stew), age 61, of Morganton, Georgia, passed away on July 19th, 2024, at Park Ridge Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee. A loving father, brother, and friend, Stew was a man of few words but had a heart full of love. Known for his sense of humor, sarcasm, determination, tenacious spirit, and compassion, he touched the lives of many and will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
Born on October 1, 1962, in Ohio, Stew was the son of Fred and Opal Carmack. He is survived by his cherished Australian Shepherd, Rocky; his children, Mel (Tyler) Stafford, Sarah (Gabriel) Higgins, and Darrell (Cassie) Duncil; his grandchildren, Lexi, Amelia, Zack, Luke, Blake, and John Hodge V; his siblings, Carol Hand, Wendell Carmack, and Judy King; He is also remembered by his nephews, Buddy and Christopher Hand, and many other loved ones. Stew was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Opal; his brothers, Freddie and Johnny; and his daughter, Jessica Carmack.
Stew had a deep love for the outdoors, and in his honor, a memorial service will be held at Horseshoe Bend Park in McCaysville, Georgia, on September 7th at 4:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate Stew's life, share memories, and support each other during this time of loss.
