Steven Gregory Lane

Steven Gregory Lane, 43, a lifelong resident of this area went to his Heavenly home on Thursday evening, November 17th, 2016. Steven was born on October 23rd, 1973 in Cleveland, TN. He was an avid sports fan especially the Tennessee Volunteers. Steven also loved singing for the Lord. Steven was a 1992 graduate of Bradley Central High School and attended Cleveland State Community College. He was last employed with Miller Industries in Ooltewah, TN and a faithful member of Elkmont Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his father Reverend Thomas E. Lane of Cleveland, TN and grandparents Clyde & Ruth Lane of Loudon, TN and also Jesse & Irene Sanders of Cleveland.

Steven leaves behind to cherish his memory his mother Linda Sanders Lane of Georgetown, TN, one brother Eddie Lane & his wife Stacy of Ooltewah, TN, one sister Angela Sawyer and husband Lee of Georgetown, TN, two nephews Logan & Nehemiah Sawyer and one niece Marijke Sawyer all of Georgetown, TN, numerous other extended family members, church family and a host of special friends.

A celebration of his life is planned for Sunday evening, November 20th, 2016 at 6:00 PM at Elkmont Baptist Church located at 4030 Old Freewill Road in Cleveland, TN with the Reverend Johnny Hood officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday afternoon from 4:00 PM until the 6:00 PM service time.

The family will hold a private interment on Monday morning, November 21st, 2016 in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens where Steven will be laid to rest beside his father.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made in Steven’s memory to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. Also the family request that in honor of Steven and his love for Tennessee football, everyone wear something orange on Sunday.
