Steven Black

Steven Michael Black, 75, passed away at his home in Charleston, TN, December 6, 2024. He was the son of the late Thomas Henry Black, Jr. and Therese Hicks Black. Steven was born in San Francisco, CA, August 16, 1949.

Steven spent many years with Hewlett-Packard as a network telecommunication engineer. He was an avid runner and participated every year in the Peachtree Road Race in Atlanta, GA. He enjoyed hiking and downhill skiing. He possessed a vibrant sense of humor and his loved ones remember his upbeat views on life.

Steven is survived by his wife Cindy, son Christopher, and daughter Jennifer (Jeremy). He is also survived by brothers Peter Black (Chris) and Tom Black (Noi) and sister Lori Green (Jim), brothers-in-law Chuck McDowell (Toni) and David McDowell (Gina) and sister-in law Lori Gardner (Tim), as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Steven was also preceded in death by his sister, Judy Kreuger.

In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made in Steven's memory to the St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church food pantry, 900 Clingan Ridge Drive, NW; Cleveland, TN 37312.

A funeral Mass is planned for Monday, January 27, 2025, at 11:00 am at St. Therese of Lisieux Church.
