Steve Wilson, Jr., age 44, was transferred from this life to his eternal heavenly home on November 19, 2016. He was born in Waycross, GA and became a resident of Cleveland, TN in 2009.
Steve enjoyed hunting, fishing, archery, music, praise and worship, and the Georgia Bulldogs. He was a dedicated Christian, member of Mt. Olive Church of God, a loving husband, wonderful father and faithful friend. He was also passionate about mentoring others as a successful leader and life coach. He built a successful career as agency director for The Wilson Agency of Symmetry Financial Group and served as a teaching Pastor for Compassion Church Ministries. Steve was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
At the age of 16, Steve discovered a desire and passion for the ministry and began evangelizing. Since then, he has had a wonderful and fruitful ministry. He served as a licensed ordained Bishop in both the Church of God and the Church of God of Prophecy. He fulfilled many successful ministerial roles in several cities including Cleveland TN, Durham NC, St. Charles MO, Summerville SC, and High Point NC. He also received a bachelor of Theology degree from Christian Life School of Theology.
He is survived by his loving wife Melissa Noble Wilson which he referred to as the “love of his life”; his parents Rev. Steve Sr. and Carolyn Wilson; sons Zachary Wilson, Greg Wilson, Seth Snyder; grandson Beau Snyder; sister Diddi Poole; and his favorite niece, Lexie Poole.
A celebration and remembrance of Steve’s life will be held at Mt. Olive Church of God on Friday, November 25th, 2016 located at 3522 Harrison Pike, Cleveland, TN 37311 with the assistance of Companion Funeral and Cremation Services. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00am until 3:00pm. Celebration ceremony will begin at 3:00pm. Interment will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Blake McPherson, Jeremy Noble, Rick Creasey, Joe Luttrell, James Sears, Jim Welch, Brian Shelton, Casey Watkins and Brandon Ellison serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Danny Young. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mt. Olive Ministries for “Hope Center Ministries,” which was a favorite ministry and passion for Steve and Melissa.
