Blake Buckner

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Stephen "Blake" Buckner, affectionately known as Blakeman, on September 26, 2024 at the age of 35.

Blake was born in Cleveland, Tennessee on April 7, 1989 into a body that would have great limitations, and we rejoice knowing that he is now free of his earthly body and getting to walk in heaven, seeing the beautiful face of Jesus, and talking with Him.

Blake enjoyed listening to 50s and Bluegrass music, swinging on the porch swing, riding in his dad's truck with the back window down, eating peanut butter cups and drinking vanilla milkshakes from Chick-Fil-A.

Blake is preceded in death by his great grandparents, Curtis and Myrtle Stephens, and Charles Buckner, his uncle, James Robert "Bob" Stephens Sr, and his brother, Nathaniel Garrett Buckner.

He is survived by his loving parents, Terry and Sherri Buckner; brother, Jacob; sisters, Carly (Robert Anderson)and Maggie; uncles and aunts, Ray and Angie Stephens and Chad and Angie Buckner; and grandparents, Ray and Annie Stephens, and Terry and Wanda Buckner; great grandmother, Juanita Buckner; his cousins, Michael (Kaelyn) Stephens, Bo (Whitney) Stephens, Rachel (Tyler) Hopkins, Rebekah (Joseph) Lowe, Reagan (Walker) McGowan, Brooke (Mac) Massengill, Rachel Buckner, Kayla (Wes) Boyd, Kelsey Millard; special friend and caretaker, Yarolslava Struk.

The Buckner family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00pm on Monday, September 30, in the worship center at First Baptist Church Cleveland, Tennessee with a Celebration of Life service to immediately follow with Jim Gibson and Rusty Asble officiating. A private graveside service will be held Tuesday, October 1st at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
