Obituary
Starling H. Johnson, age 66, of Chattanooga, TN transitioned on June 20, 2013. He moved to Tennessee from Michigan in the late 1990’s. Always a dedicated member of the community he sought to provide support to those seeking inspiration, personal development and positive health. As a motivational speaker he lent his voice on behalf of youth development, the Kidney Foundation, a local Dialysis network and the State Renal Board of Tennessee. He has also served at the Lighthouse at Patton in memory of his wife Arvella, a previous Director of the program.
He has been preceded in death by his wife Arvella, mother Rachel, and in-laws Lester and Vera Thomas. Left to cherish his memory are his three children; son, Starling Johnson, Jr., daughters, Lesley Jackson (Rodney), Robin Rollet (Steve); father, Doris Johnson; brothers, Dorsey (Shirley), Ronald Johnson: eight grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends at the home on Thursday June 27, 2013 from 4-6pm. A celebration of life service will be held for Starling in Michigan at a later date.
