Sonya Annaise Bell

Sonya Simmons Bell, 62, went home to be with her savior, Jesus Christ, on September 1st, 2022. She was born in Whitwell, Tn to Marvin J and Ama Lee Rector in May of 1960 and was residing in Cleveland, Tn with her loving husband, Donald Bell at her time of passing. Sonya enjoyed singing the gospel, motorcycle trips with her husband, and watching Star Trek reruns. Some of her fondest memories include visiting Israel to follow the path in which Jesus walked, Staying at Disneys Animal Kingdom to experience the animals, and watching her grand babies grow. Sonya loved Jesus with all of her heart and though she will be dearly missed- Her search is over.

She was preceded in death by 1st husband, Richard K Simmons, her parents, Marvin J and Ama Lee Rector, Her brother, Bruce Rector, and her sister, Rebecca “Marveena” Dykes.

Survivors include her husband, Donald Bell, 2 daughters, Hannah (Nickalas) Talley and Rebekah Simmons, Step son, Matthew (Jessica) Bell, Sisters, Margaret (Kevin) Swihart, Deborah Horne, Rhonda (Mike) Pruett, Andera (Danny) Galloway, and Vanita (Pnut) Williams, Brothers Chris (Franchesca) Rector and Weylan (Shiloh) Rector, Grandchildren Braydon Mcbee, Damon Talley, Ava and Ali Bell. And Her car ride companion, Max the dog. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be held Sunday, September 4th at Companion Funeral and Cremation Service from 2 to 4 p.m. Funeral service to follow from 4 to 5 p.m. You are invited to share a personal memory of Sonya or your condolences with her family at her online memorial located at www.companionfunerals.com.
