Sonny Ray Butler, 71, of Dayton, Tennessee passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024. Sonny was born on November 25, 1952, in Oneida, Tennessee to the late Louis "Mousey" Butler and Thelma Ann Abston Butler.

He was of the Baptist faith and a former deacon at Union Fork Baptist Church. Sonny was employed for over 28 years at Norfolk Southern Railroad and was also a reserve officer for Hamilton County Sheriff's office and a former real estate agent on Tennessee and Alabama. He enjoyed Trains, Corvettes, building things, mowing his yard, gardening, guns, bonfires, traveling, gambling, jokes, and most of all spending time with his family.

Along with is his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings, Arnold Butler, Arvil "Dude" Butler, Glenn Butler, Gene Butler, Cynthia Faye Wright, and Carolyn Sue Johnson.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Connie June Butler; brother, George (Debbie) Butler; his children, Sarah (Rodney) Lee, Tiffany (Adam) Higdon, Kasi (Reg) Pilinko, Stephanie (Joe) Schmitt, Lacey (Shaun) Braziel, and Mikel (Ashley) Hawkins; grandchildren, Trevor Brown, Tori Etling, Jayden Penney, Baylor Penney, Reagan Forgey, William Pilinko, Trinity Pilinko, Mahala Walker, Jakob Garner, Corey Lopez, Lucas Hawkins, Keydon Hawkins, Grayson Penney, and Jacob Taylor; and his great grandchildren, Kohen Garner, and Hazel Cross; along with a host of extended family and friends.
