Shirley Van Wagner

February 10, 1950 — February 7, 2024

Shirley Van Wagner, 73, of Old Fort, TN, peacefully passed away on February 7, surrounded by her loving family. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend.

She was born on February 10, 1950 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to the late Charles and Irene (Ward) Davis. As a young girl, she moved to Pomona, California with her family and graduated from Ganesha High School. Ultimately, she returned to the place of her birth, settling in Sand Springs, Oklahoma, where she would go on to live most of her life. She began working as a dietitian for mentally handicapped children and was an active member of her church. Upon retirement from the work force, she moved to Old Fort, Tennessee to be near family.

She was a wonderful mother, who always put others before herself. She always had a smile for everyone she met. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, baking cookies at Christmas, crochet, cross stitch and gardening.

She is survived by her children, Cindy (Matt) Brian, Mark (Ashley) Van Wagner, her brothers, Charles (Janet) Davis and Richard Davis, as well as her grandchildren Makayla Brian, Russell Van Wagner and Richard Van Wagner. She is also survived by her closest friend Debbie Stoy and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to the Alzheimer's Association or similar dementia research organization.
