Obituary

Shirley Natalie Murphy, 81, a resident of Chattanooga, Tennessee passed away on September 17th 2014. She was born in Gary, Indiana on July 25th, 1933 and has resided in the Chattanooga area for 50 plus years. She was the daughter of the late Dewitt W. Clinton and Daisy Natalie Forsythe. She was of the Methodist faith, and attended Christ United Methodist Church. Shirley enjoyed singing, playing the piano, reading, crafting and gardening.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by grandmother, Margret Rebeca Greene and grandfather, Nathaniel Frederick Foresythe and son, John Steven Murphy.

Shirley leaves behind to cherish her memory three sons James Hill Murphy Jr. (Nina), David Bryan Murphy, and Christopher Thomas Murphy (Debbie). She also leaves behind three grandchildren Laurel Murphy, Anna Murphy, and Nicole Murphy.

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, September 19th from 4-6 pm at Brainerd Hills Baptist Church.
