Shirley May Hackney

Shirley May Hackney, 69, of Cleveland, TN passed away on August 6, 2016. She was born on August 22, 1946 to the late Herman and Mary Hudgins. Shirley was a lifelong resident of this area and a member of Parkway Baptist Church. She loved going to the beauty shop and would talk to anyone. Above all things, Shirley loved her family and would do anything for any of them.
In addition to her mother and father, she is preceded in death by her husband J.C. Hackney and two sisters Virginia Davis and Irene Myers.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her brother Lester Hudgins (Donna) and sisters Margaret Thompson and Ruby Givens.
A funeral service will be held at 7:00pm on Tuesday August 9, 2016 at Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown RD NW, Cleveland, TN 37311. The family will receive friends from 5:00pm until the 7:00pm service time. Interment will be held at Chattanooga National Cemetery on Wednesday August 10, 2016 at 1:30pm with Cody Suttles, James Davis, Chase Morrow, Jacob Williams, Gene Williams, and Alvin Silvers serving as pallbearers.
