Shirley Lord Holden, age 86, of Cleveland, departed this life on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at her residence. Born on April 9, 1934 in Chattanooga to the late Clyde and Dorothy Lord, she lived half of her life in Bradley County and was an active member of Asbury United Methodist Church and recently a member of Broad Street United Methodist Church. Shirley retired from three different careers, South Central Bell after 22 years, Maytag after 10 years, and Register of Deeds after 5 years. She was a fun loving person who never met a stranger, lived life to the fullest, and loved the Lord singing gospel music for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Gary Lord.
Left behind to cherish Shirley’s memory are her loving husband of 43 years, James “Max” Holden; daughters, Candice Robinson and Dottie Jordan; grandchildren, Courtney Pendegrass(Chris), Matthew Botts(Jerri), Zach Botts(Whitney),Kaitlyn Botts, Daniel Jordan(Nicole),Abagail Harris(Will), and Logan Jordan;sister, Kay Hatfield(Spencer); fourteen great-grandchildren; and several extended family and a host of friends.
A Celebration of Life and Home going for Shirley Lord Holden will be held at 1p.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Broad Street United Methodist Church with Pastors Ken Scoggins and Micah Nicolaus officiating.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the funeral hour.
The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to Shannon and the Cleveland Team of Hospice of Chattanooga for their compassionate care.
