Shirley Long

Shirley Mae Long, 86, of Cleveland, Tennessee passed away on July 30, 2024, after a long battle with vascular dementia.

Shirley was born to the late Elmer and Dovie Farmer in Charleston, Tennessee on October 13, 1937. She retired as an LPN from Cleveland Pediatrics. Shirley loved gardening and cooking and was a dedicated member of Phillipi Baptist Church. She had a wonderful spirit that anyone that all who knew her saw.

Along with her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by her siblings John Ellis Farmer, Dean Pendergrass, Herman Farmer, Robert Farmer, and Johnny Farmer.

She is survived by her loving husband, of 67 years, Kenneth Long, her children, Kristie Brown, Kevin (Donna) Long, grandchildren, Baylee and Carson Brown, and Nicholas long, as well as her siblings, Jim, James, Don and Charles Farmer, Eveline Benson, Louise Balde and a host of nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Shirley's family would like to extend a special thank you to Caris Healthcare Athens; specifically Joanna, Samantha, Sherry, Bonnie, Amy, and her daytime caregiver, Mahalah.
