Shirley Jackson

Shirley Jean Jackson, 81, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, September 6th, 2024. She was born on July 8th, 1943 to the late Earl and Julia Puett.

Shirley was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She cherished spending time with her loved ones. Shirley was a homemaker, and also spent many years between 1970-1980 as the owner and operator of Euclid Ave Grocery/ The Little Snack Shack. Her greatest love was her husband, Earley, with whom she spent 64 years. They spent an abundance of time camping together at Grasshopper Campground after retirement. Shirley will always be remembered for her big smile, and generous heart. May her light shine on for those that held her dear.

Shirley leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, Earley Jackson, her children, Christie Odom, Shannon (Trae) Bates, grandchildren, Emma, Will, Jackson and Shelby Bates, sister in-laws, Clara Whitmire (Rick), Shirley (Conuard) Higdon, Peggy Hakes, Dale (Eddie) Wilson, Deborah McAllister, and Shirley Loudermilk, brother in-law, Ralph Jackson, several nieces and nephews, and very special lifelong friends, Sandy, Louise, Ann, Waymon, and Randy.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made in Shirley's name to St. Judes Childrens Hospital at stjude.org or to the Erlanger foundation at erlangerfoundation.org.

A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024 at Companion Funeral Home of Cleveland at 7:00 pm with Dr. Jay McCluskey officiating. the family will be receiving friends from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm prior to the service. A private graveside will be held at a later date.
