Shirley J Amos Arnwine, age 73, of Niota, Tennessee, departed this life on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at her home. She was born on March 20, 1947 in Etowah, TN, to the late Preston (P.L.) Amos and Jean Amos Farmer. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Billy Amos.
Shirley was a Etowah High graduate of 1965. She cheered all four years, was a captain of the cheer squad, and Miss Etowah in 1964. She married John R Arnwine of Niota on August 26, 1965. Her life was amazing, she set the standard and was an expert of being a great home maker, chef, gardener, and crafter. She managed a household of a husband and two sons. Shirley was very involved in raising her family and created a loving home filled with great memories of laughter, discipline, and love. She was an active member of Marshall Hill Baptist Church and supported the community through volunteering and sharing a great heart with all she came in contact with. As a wife and mother, she was always available and took time to make sure her house was filled with direction, affection, and love. Everyday was a “Great Day” and her instruction to her family and friends was to “Be Good”. All those who knew her will remember the impact her positive attitude, smile, and unfailing beauty made in their life. She represented everything that defines an amazing wife, mother, mother-in-law, sister, friend, sister-in-law, and grandmother.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, John R Arnwine of Niota; children, John and Cindy Arnwine of Union, Ky; Preston and Lynn Arnwine of Knoxville, TN; eight grandchildren, Josh Arnwine, Matthew & Caitlin Arnwine, Grant Arnwine, Eliza Arnwine, Ansley Arnwine, Chole Arnwine, & Presley Arnwine; brother Robert (Bobby) Amos of Etowah; and step father Leon Farmer of Etowah, TN; and a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing.
