Sherry Casteel

May 1, 1952 — November 25, 2024

Sherry Lynn (Morrow) Casteel, 72 of Cleveland, Tennessee, born to Betty McDaris Morrow and Haskel Morrow on May 1, 1952. Sherry went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 25th, 2024. Sherry was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Casteel and her parents, Hack and Betty Morrow. Those left behind to cherish her memory include her daughter, Twana Lynn (Casteel) Cochran, Granddaughters, Ally Hicks (Logan), Gabby Cochran, as well as her five precious Great Granddaughters, Elanna, Makinzely, Sophie, Piper, and Harper Hicks; as well as two brothers and a sister. Sherry also had a special love for her cousin Gregg Ervin and his wife Laura. The family would like to mention her best friend Dottie Smith for all the help and love she has given her during their friendship; especially during her illness. Special thanks to her bonus daughter, Julie Theriot, with whom she always greeted with a smile and a "Hello Darlin!". Sherry was known by many names, including Mommy, Nana, and Aunt Sherry. Sherry was the oldest of four siblings. Sherry devoted the last 15 years of her life caring for her husband, father and mother. She also took care of her Aunt Jeri and Uncle Jimmy Ervin during their later years. Sherry was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Elkmont Baptist Church. She organized the church Easter egg hunt for many years. She was always involved in activities and helping out in any way possible. She will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mommy, nana, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, friend, and neighbor by many. Sherry will be remembered by so many as a selfless and tireless caregiver, to whom she gave unconditional love and support to those she in her care. She will be remembered by many for the way she would always be the first to help someone through acts of service and kindness and her strong faith in the Lord. She truly made this world a better place. When she left this world and arrived in heaven, she left behind a void that so many feel and may never heal but we shall learn how to deal with in time. A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at 11:30 am at Companion Funeral Home - The Mack Shelton Parlor. The family will be receiving friends from 10:00 am - 11:30 am prior to the service. A graveside service is to follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery. You are invited to share a personal memory of Sherry or your condolences with her family at her online memorial located at www.companionfunerals.com. Companion Funeral Home of Cleveland and the Cody family are honored to assist the family with these arrangements.
