Sherri Cardin

Sherri Lynn Cardin, age 56, of Sweetwater, TN passed away at Sweetwater Hospital after an emergency on Wednesday, March 5th, 2025, following a lengthy illness. Sherri was born in Knoxville, TN and she grew up in Englewood, TN. She attended Englewood School and McMinn Central High School. Sherri enjoyed playing with cats, visiting with friends, listening to music and watching the Dallas Cowboys and the LA Lakers.

Sherri is survived by her only sibling, a sister, Nell Cardin of Englewood, TN; close cousins: Orbie, Anne, and Nancy Cardin of Lakeland, FL; life-long friends Lind Armstrong Nipper and Hazel Armstrong; and cherished friend and care giver, Anna Viar.

Sherri is Preceded in death by her mother, Mary Evelyn Perian Cardin; maternal grandmother, Martha McDonald Allman; beloved nephew, Philip Michael Cardin Lowary; and long-time significant other, Clarence Houston Upton and brother, Tommy Brooks of FL.

There will be no planned services for Sherri. Her sister, Nell wishes to thank Sweetwater Hospital Emergency Room staff, Monroe County EMS, Sweetwater Fire Department and Police Department, Monroe Health and Rehabilitation Center in Madisonville, and all the nurses and caregivers who so lovingly provided care for Sherri, she also wishes to thank Companion Funeral Home of Athens, TN. Sherri's cremated remains will be laid to rest at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Athens, TN.
