Shelia Diane Payne Beach

December 5, 1948 — November 8, 2021

Shelia Diane (Payne) Beach, age 72, died on November 8th, 2021 in Chattanooga, Tennessee surrounded by her two daughters. Shelia was born on December 5, 1948, in Grimsley, Tennessee, to Ivan and Virginia Payne where she shared her formative years with her siblings: Steve, Jimmy, Michael, and her sister Sharon. She was married to Allen Beach. Shelia spread her endless joy in many different occupations: nursing homes, bakeries, and spent her later life as an esthetician where she owned and ran her business: Shelia’s Ultimate Facials. Shelia battled dementia for many years, but finally succumbed to cancer and died within a week of diagnosis.
She left a legacy of love with each of her friends and clients, but most importantly she left a legacy as a woman who loved Jesus and longed to share his love. She was one of those “get down on the ground and play” kind of grandparents. Her face lit up when she was with children and she was as, or more, silly than the kids. Her ability to discern the needs, or wants, of her children and grandchildren and then try to meet those needs, or wants, was one of her most inspiring gifts. Her death leaves a giant hole within her family.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother (Ivan and Virginia Payne), her first husband Jimmy Proctor Renslow, brothers Jimmy and Michael Payne, and her sister Sharon Payne.
Shelia is survived by her husband, Allen Beach, three children: Michelle Britton (Henry), Jimmy Renslow (Gayla), and Rebekah Guffee (Shane); ten grandchildren: Jenny Churchwell (Michael), Lee Britton (Miranda), Dylan Britton (Sydnei), Boe Renslow (Abbey), Mac Renslow, Leia Renslow, Zuri Renslow, Zeke Renslow, Sarah Guffee and James Guffee; and four great grandchildren: Blaze Britton, Elias Churchwell, Ava Britton, Amelia Britton, her brother Steve Payne, and many nieces and nephews.
In Lieu of flowers, It was Shelia’s desire for memorial funds go towards supporting the ongoing work of The 5:14 Initiative to be used to serve orphans and refugees around the world: wwwthe514i.com.
A Celebration of Life and Home going for Shelia Diane (Payne) Beach will be held at 3p.m Sunday, November 14, 2021, from the Cleveland Chapel of Companion Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 1p.m. until the time of the service.
