Sharon “Sharee” (Dixon) McGahee went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 5, 2019. She was born November 17, 1951 to Rev. C.L. and Lucille Dixon. She was a graduate of Bradley Central High School class of ‘69 where she won a scholarship to secretarial college. She sang in a trio with her sisters in her dad’s revivals and camp meetings in FL, TN, GA, and AL. She loved to sing Gospel songs, and her sweet voice always filled the house with a spirit of joy. Her greatest aspiration was to be a mother: a job she excelled at. She had a deep affection for children, and was adored by them. Her big, bright eyes and gentle demeanor brought comfort to all that knew her. She was preceded in death by her beloved dad.
She leaves behind her three precious children: daughter Melissa (McGahee) Shelton, sons Monty McGahee and Matthew McGahee. Also grieving their loss are her grandchildren: Monty McGahee II, Elisha Shelton, Joshua McGahee, Julianna McGahee, and Mariah McGahee as well as her former husband, Ron McGahee. She also leaves behind her mother and her siblings: Eddie R. Dixon, Rev. Dickie Dixon, Susan (Dixon) Ball, and Rebecca (Becci) Dixon as well as several nephews and nieces.
The viewing will be held at Companion Funeral Home from 11am-1pm with a service at 1pm. Graveside services will be immediately following the service.
