Sharon Roe-Bolton, 93, passed away on March 2, 2023 at Dominion Senior Living, after a short illness. She was a resident there for a number of years. Born in Toledo, Ohio January 25, 1930, she moved to Athens in 2001.
Preceded in death by her parents, Dennis and Martha Roe; her husband, McKinley B. Bolton; stepson, Ray C. Bolton; stepdaughter, Linda J. Roberts; stepson-in-law, Ronnie E. Moses, as well as a lifelong special friend, Benny Jones. Survived by her stepdaughter, Patricia J. Moses; grandson, Joshua M. Bolton; children of special friend, Benny Jones, Vicki and Ronnie Flynn, Carol Jones, Debbie and Matt Newsome and their children.
Sharon was a graduate of Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, where she received a degree in Education. As a professional educator, she worked in the Dayton, Ohio school system for 32 years teaching 4th, 5th, and 6th grade. She loved her children.
She was also a dedicated member of Alpha Delta Kappa Organization in Ohio. After her move to Tennessee, she became a member of the Alpha Lambda Chapter. Sharon was also a member of the Retired Teacher Association.
Sharon loved travel and has seen all of the United States, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, the Caribbean, Africa and various other trips with the Organizations conventions.
She loved her family, friends, cats, working in her flower beds, and watching the birds, squirrels and rabbits. The honest statement about Sharon is “Cardinals appear when an Angel is near.” You will be truly missed and always loved.
A Memorial Service will be held on March 18, 2023, 5:00 p.m. at Central Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Bernard officiating.
