Sharon Kaye Mathews

Sharon Kaye Mathews, 73, lifelong resident of Cleveland passed away in a Chattanooga hospital on Tuesday, April 26, 2022. She was born September 14, 1948 to the late Raymond and Georgia Augusta Law Howell.
Sharon was retired from Duracell and was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church. She was a friend to all she met and could always be found laughing and enjoying life. But above all she truly loved her family and friends and will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her son Christopher Lynn Mathews. Sharon leaves behind to cherish memory her loving husband of 54 years, Calvin Lee Mathews and her daughter Malessa Dawne (Mathews) Frank and son-in-law, Randall Ray Frank, two sisters, Mary Ann Gorbett Near (Lanny) and Judy Rebecca Howard England and their children; Marty Near, Jeri Near Botts, Molly Near, John Thomas England and Tara England, her uncle, Harold Frazier and longtime friends, Darlene Baugh and Joann Gold, brothers and sisters in law; Lawrence Mathews, Jack and Jimmie Chase, Gary and Sue Kimsey as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and lots of friends.
The Celebration of Sharon’s life will be held Monday, May 2, 2022 at 2:30 pm at 1st United Methodist Church, 3425 North Ocoee St. Cleveland, TN 37312 with the Rev. Todd Collins and Rev. Payton Stewart officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:30 PM. Burial will immediately follow the service at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
