Sharon Elizabeth Calfee Ramsey

December 20, 1953 — September 7, 2017

Sharon Elizabeth Calfee Ramsey, 63, a lifelong resident of Bradley County won the ultimate battle over Cancer on Thursday night, September 7, 2017. When she left her earthly body on Thursday evening she was reunited with her son Ryan and daughter Melissa forever in their Heavenly home. Sharon was born on December 20, 1953. She was a devoted member of Clingan Ridge Baptist Church. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, mother and grandmother whose ministry gift was helping others. Sharon was a teacher in the Bradley County School system for over 20 years. One commented following her passing – “Heaven’s gain is her future student’s loss”. Not only did she mentor and create a legacy within many of her students, she did much to help those children suffering from life threatening and terminal diseases. During Ryan’s illness, Sharon got involved with the Ronald McDonald House and The St. Jude Telethon. After Ryan’s homegoing, Sharon continued to help these charities raise thousands of dollars all the way up until her passing. She was loved by so many and will be missed by all those she came in contact with. Those who lost the most with Sharon's passing is those who never had the opportunity to meet her.

Sharon is preceded in death by an infant daughter Susan Melissa Ramsey and one son Kenneth Ryan Ramsey.

Sharon leaves behind to cherish her memory her parents Ulyss and Bonnie Calfee, daughter Heather Cox, brother Randall Calfee and his wife Debra, grandchildren Kaylyn Elizabeth Ann Cox and Kendrick Dominique Cox, niece Christie Brown, great niece Ashley Brown, numerous other extended family, church family, school family and a host of special friends.

A Celebration of her life is planned for Sunday, September 10, 2017 at 4:00 PM at the Clingan Ridge Baptist Church located at 2412 Georgetown Road in Cleveland, TN with the Reverend Ricky Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 PM until the 4:00 PM service time at the church.

You are encouraged to share a memory of Sharon and/or your personal condolences with her family by visiting her memorial webpage and guestbook at www.companionfuenrals.com. Also, it would be fitting for those attending the visitation and/or service wear something pink in honor Sharon.

Companion Funeral Home and the Cody family are honored to assist Sharon’s family with these arrangements.
