Sharon Elaine (White) Leamon passed away from her earthly home on January 21, 2021, while her children held her close and her family surrounded her with love.

“Sherry” had endured a 5 year battle with ovarian cancer and passed due to complications of the disease. Sherry always hoped a cure would be found and participated in clinical trials to help advance the treatment research. She hoped her participation would save other lives in the future.

Sherry was born on January 1, 1951 in Mile Straight, Tennessee. She attended Falling Water Elementary School where she was voted Princess in her 1st year and Queen her last year of attendance. She also attended Soddy Daisy Jr. High and Soddy Daisy High Schools. She lived in Cleveland most of her adult life and completed her G.E.D. there as well.

Sherry is preceded in death by her father, Charles E. White, step father, William A. Russell and step sister Kathy (Russell) O’Neill.

Sherry is survived by her mother, Phyllis Y. (Hughes) Russell, her children; Misty L. (Lewis) Pettit (Gary), and Steven Randal (Randy) Lewis, one sister, Karen (White) Hicks (Sam), favorite niece and nephews; Stacey (Hicks) Wilson (Ronnie), Scott Hicks (Kris) and Andrew Hicks (Sheri).

She adored her four “Perfect” grandsons; Corey W. Pettit (Anna), Blake Lewis, Brad Lewis and Brandon Lewis. She also leaves behind her special fur baby, her polydactyl kitty, Yeti.

She also had extended family members in Georgia, Ellen (Russell) Farmikas (Tom), Laura (Russell) Glazner (Jon) and Mark Russell (Ruby), as well as Kathy (Russell) O’Neill’s husband Frank.

Sherry loved and enjoyed swing dancing, ball room dancing, cruises, hiking with her children, cross word puzzles, family gatherings, family board games, beaches, traveling and most of all she enjoyed her family. She was most proud of being a Mother and a “Meemaw”.

The family will receive friends at her Memorial, January 31, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the Old Woolen Mill in Cleveland, TN. Anyone that knew and loved her is welcome to attend.

Sherry requested in lieu of flowers of condolences please donate for a cure to:
