Sharon Akkola

Sharon Marie Akkola, a beloved sister, aunt, friend, and faithful servant of God, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025, in Cleveland, Tennessee, at the age of 76.

Born on March 12, 1949, in Florena, Arizona, Sharon was the cherished daughter of Jesse Lee Ross and Rose Mary Ross, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in passing by her devoted husband of 46 years, James Akkola, whom she now joins in eternal rest.

Sharon will be lovingly remembered by her four sisters-Geraldine Dahlke, Joyce Hutton, Sue Pomainville, and Donna Stevens-as well as by a host of nieces and nephews who brought her great joy. She held a special place in the hearts of all who knew her.

Known by many as "the nicest person you'll ever meet," Sharon lived a life marked by kindness, generosity, and faith. She dedicated over four decades of service to Valley Regional Hospital, where her compassion touched the lives of countless patients and coworkers alike.

Sharon had a deep love for the simple joys in life: a good game of bingo, a cold Coca-Cola, French onion soup on a chilly day, the warm companionship of her cats, and most of all, time spent with her family. Her faith was her anchor, and she lived every day with quiet grace and trust in God's plan.

Though she has left this earthly home, Sharon's gentle spirit and legacy of love will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
