Selma Elizabeth "Lib" Mcclure Nipper

Selma Elizabeth (Lib) McClure Nipper, age 89 went home to be with Jesus Tuesday, Janurary 21, 2020.

Elizabeth, the youngest and last living child of M.L. and Naomi Bell Griffith McClure, she was preceded in death by seven brothers Alpha, Austin L.and Rosalea (Dunn), Lloyd and Annalea (Officer), Marvin and Hazel (Chancey), Ollie and Mary (Arnold), Leon and Amanda (Casteel) & Wanoka (Epperson) and Jack and Virginia (Epperson).​ Seven sisters Minnie and Charlie Hicks, Anna Mae and Clement Ogle, Rosel and Bill Bowerman, Bessie and J.D. Stewart, Lucille Johnson, Opal and William (Bunk) Grisam, and Joy Stinnett and Bob Lones. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband of 20 years William Oscar Nipper. Several nieces and nephews preceded her in death also, Pleas McClure, Emogene McClure Trotter, Edward Hicks, Harold Hicks, Ralph McClure, Jim Stewart, Pat Stewart Howard, Michael Stinnett, Denise McClure Guthrie and JoAnn Pullen McClure.

Elizabeth, is survived by daughter, Susan Nipper Ownby, sons and wives David and Jerry Nipper and Dennis and Barbara Nipper, and son in law Gary L. Ownby SR.. Eight grandchildren Donna Nipper Phillips(Alan) Shane Nipper(Tammy), Lisa Ownby Dailey(David), Lane Ownby(Teri), Kelly Nipper Reid(Gilbert), Michelle Nipper, Eric Nipper, Ben Nipper(Rita). She is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren: Ryan and Amy Ownby, Madison Colgan, Taylor Ownby, Casey Phillips, Sam Phillips, Shayla Nipper Earls(Dustin), Ryan Nipper, Ethan Nipper, Ashley Hughett, Brittany Hughett, Gibson and Will Reid, Colton and Chloe Nipper and five great, great grandchildren, Bailey Hughett, Marlee Mae Hughett, Garrett Ownby, Wyatt Earls, Lane Earls. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, Lois Hicks Glass, J. Lee and Judi Ogle, Martha McClure Holt(Willis), Faye Grisam Buckner, Linda Grisam Kaylor(Terry), Gwen McClure Peters(James), Robert McClure, Dale McClure, George Guthrie, Mitchell and April Stinnett, Doug and Charlotte McClure, Benita McClure Walsh(Terry), Jerry McClure. Geneva Johnson, Betty Jo Johnson Brown, Edna Johnson, Tim Johnson, Evelyn Hicks Ledford, Belinda Hicks Gillis and Nancy and Sarah McClure. She cared for her nieces and nephews very much and talked about them often.​

We would like to give a special thanks to caregivers Cheryl and Amy with Elect Home Care of Chattanooga and to Eagle Home Care and their caregivers who cared for Mama for several years. Thanks also to the Bradley County Sheriffs office for sending their representative to visit Mom and the officers who came when she called and to the Bradley County Ambulance Service EMT's who would be right there when she needed them. Also Hearth Hospice and special nurse Michelle Mowery Norwood.

Our Mom will be missed by all who knew her, she was a loving and caring person and always a lot of fun. We are so thankful to our God for all the time we were allowed with our Mama, and for giving us a Mama who always loved us unconditionally!​

We give thanks for all our friends and relatives for their companionship and prayers! A memorial service will be held at a later date.​
