Scotty Jackson

Scotty Brownlow Jackson, 84, passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2023. He was born to the late Frank and Rose Jackson on July 15, 1939. He was an active, outgoing person full of laughs who loved to be outdoors camping, golfing, fishing or working in the yard. He loved music and enjoyed playing the guitar with family singing funny songs.

In addition to his parents, Scotty is preceded in death by his brothers, John Jackson and Bud Jackson.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lillie Jackson; children: Timothy Scott (Jennifer) Jackson of Athens, TN, Monica Heather Jackson of Athens, TN, Angela Jay (Kevin) White of Etowah, TN, Gregory (Kristie) Jackson of Johnson City, TN, Melissa Jackson of Johnson City, TN, and Laura Jackson of Atlanta, GA; sisters: Shirley (Stanley) Bennett, Susan (Wayne) Casteel, Nancy Casteel, and Pamela (Jerry) Edwards; brother, Bobby (Kathy) Jackson; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephew.

The family will welcome friends at Companion Funeral Home, Athens Chapel, on Tuesday, September 12, from 4 to 8pm and on Wednesday, September 13, from 1 to 2pm. There will be a funeral service on Wednesday, September 13, at 2pm with interment to follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery. Pall bearers for the service include Neamiah Jackson, Ezra Jackson, Caleb Headrick, Cookie Ray, Christpher Irick, Travis Casteel, Duncan Oliver, and Tom Holt.
