Sarah Iona Scoggins

Sarah Iona Scoggins, 80, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, TN passed away on Friday morning, April 7th, 2017 at her home. She was born on June 18th, 1936 a daughter of the late Roscoe & Juanita Tinsley. She was of the Baptist Faith. Iona and her late husband Don Scoggins ran Don’s Heating and Air for many years. Iona had several hobbies including gardening, bowling, quilting, but will be most remembered for her love of her family. She always made time to have her family over for a home cooked meal once a week for forty plus years.

In addition to her parents, She is preceded in death by her loving husband Don Scoggins, two sisters Mary Jane Bean and Sue Tinsley and three brothers Rob Tinsley, Ralph Tinsley and Joe Tinsley.

Iona leaves behind to cherish her memory three sons Donnie Scoggins, Randy Scoggins and his wife Mary Jo and Dale Scoggins and his wife Julia, grandchildren Shanda Harris, Joel Scoggins and wife Khristina, Rachel Evans, Brad Scoggins and wife Amber, Erica Scoggins, Ginger Rose, Blake Copeland and wife Laura, Cindy Oliver and husband Alan, great grandchildren Sydney Harris, Lane Harris, Riley Harris, Walker Evans, Autumn Scoggins, Taylor Copeland, Allie Oliver and Ainsley Oliver, three sisters Norma Floyd, Margaret McKamey and Ola Mae Trentham, five brothers James “Bud” Tinsley, Frank Tinsley, Glen Tinsley, Major Tinsley and Coy Tinsley, numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.

A celebration of her family is planned for Tuesday, April 11th, 2017 at 3:00 PM at the Philippi Baptist Church located at 2481 Harrison Pike located in Cleveland, TN with the Reverend Sammy Hooker and her grandson Joel Scoggins officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens with her family and friends serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday afternoon from 12:00 noon until the 3:00 PM service time at the church.
