In Loving Memory of Sara Maude Reece

Sara Maude Reece, a beloved member of the Gainesville, GA community, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2023, at the age of 89. She was born on January 12, 1934, in Gainesville, GA, to the late William Hoyt Ledford and Mattie Jones Ledford.

Sara dedicated her life to knowledge and literature, earning her Associate's Degree and working as a librarian in the public library for many years. Her passion for books and learning touched the lives of countless individuals in the community she served. Even after retirement, she continued to avidly read and share her love for literature with others.

Sara's memory will live on through the love and admiration she shared with her surviving relatives. She is survived by her daughters Malinda Burnette and her husband Richard and Katherine Ruberti. Additionally, she is survived by her son Greg Reece and his wife Debbie. Sara will forever be remembered and cherished by her grandchildren: Eric Burnette and his wife Staci, J.R. Burnette and his wife Baily, Kate Lawson, and Abby Jessup and her husband Chris. The joy of her life continued through her great-grandchildren: Tucker Burnette, Addyson Burnette, Wilkes Burnette, Carson Burnette, AnnaLee Burnette, Wyatt Jessup, and Armie Lawson. Sara also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever remember her kindness and gentle spirit.

A Memorial Service will be held to celebrate Sara's life on October 1, 2023, at 3:00 pm at the Broad Street United Methodist Church, where she was a faithful member for 54 years. Prior to the service, a Visitation will take place at the church at 2:00 pm, providing an opportunity for friends and loved ones to pay their respects and share cherished memories.

While our hearts are heavy with grief, let us remember Sara for her remarkable spirit, unwavering devotion to her family, and her unwavering love for literature. May her light continue to shine brightly in our hearts, as we carry her memory with us forever.

In lieu of flowers, Sara's family requests that donations be made to the Cleveland Public Library or a charity of your choice.

Rest in peace, dear Sara. Your love and kindness will be missed, but the impact of your beautiful soul will forever be cherished.
