Obituary
Sandra Joyce Holmes, 76, a resident of Cleveland passed away on Friday January 25th, 2013 in a Chattanooga hospital. Sandra a lifelong resident of Cleveland was born here on June 27, 1936 a daughter of the late Edward and Julia Trotter. Sandra was of the Methodist faith and a long time member of the South Cleveland United Methodist Church. Her church family was very important to Sandra and she loved quilting and all the time spent with the United Methodist Women. Sandra had a sweet tooth she satisfied with a daily indulgence of chocolate. However Sandra most beautiful quality was the she love she had for her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents Sandra is preceded in death by one sister Gail Trotter and one brother Lyndon Trotter.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband of 58 years Claude Holmes, two daughters Stephanie Holmes and Jennifer Holmes, one son Bucky Holmes, one sister June Davis of Memphis, TN, one brother Dennis Trotter (Yvonne) of Atlanta, GA, five grandchildren Ned Swafford, Brandi Swafford, Justin Orouke, John Holmes of Washington, DC, and Katie Holmes, five great grandchildren, one step daughter Vickie Carroll, and numerous other extended family members, church family and friends.
A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, January 29th, 2013 at 3:00 PM at the South Cleveland United Methodist Church located at 1165 Church Street SW in Cleveland TN with the Reverend David Massingale officiating. Interment will follow in the Veteran’s section of Fort Hill Cemetery with Ned Swafford, John Holmes, Justin Orouke, Rick Hickman, Eric Thompson, and Greg Workman serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 12:00 noon until the 3:00 PM service time.
